DUBLIN AIRPORT IN CONTEXT

The comprehensive Trans-European Network [TEN] incorporates the subset Trans-European Transport Network [TEN-T Network] which represents the strategically most important transport nodes and links of the trans-European transport networks designated by the EU. The TEN-T network on the Island of Ireland links the main urban centres of Belfast-Dublin and Cork and encompasses the road, rail and other transport modes on this route. The EU works to promote TEN-T networks by a combination of leadership, coordination, issuance of guidelines and funding aspects of development.

The North Sea-Mediterranean Corridor is one of the nine priority axes of the Trans-European Transport Network. It stretches from Ireland and the north of UK through the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg to the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France and will strongly contribute to European interconnectivity and cohesion.
