We support this objective to enhance and promote all existing greenspaces in Ongar by providing sensitive and appropriate leisure infrastructure within the boundary of Ongar Green, but would add that lighting be provided here, to extend the hours of it's use during winter time and importantly to promote personal security. We would also ask that public benches be provided to promote equality of access to these greenspaces.
Ongar is a suburban Village, located at the heart of dense recent residential developemnt in West Fingal. As the village is in the process of being taken in charge by the Council, and in order to ensure that the devlopement of the amenity of the village is both structured and sustainable to the benefit of both local residents and visitors alike, we would ask that a Local Area Plan (LAP) be prepared as a priority.
We ask that the Level Crossings at Ashtown, Coolmine, Portestown, Clonsilla and Barbestown be retained following the development of the Dart+ West Railway Project, as the proposed preferred option for traffic management is not adequate to manage vehicular traffic and will cause massive and unsustainable disruption to local communities.
We are deeply concerned that the Development proposes to reduce the current Riparian Buffer Strip between the Royal Canal and adjacent future development, (which is a protected area of national importance ( pNHA and a WFDRPA) be reduced from the a measly 15m to 10 m this will mean that ecological corridor will not be wide enough to adequately protect rich biodiversity and important visual amenity of this historic landscape, which is already being badly impacted on poorly planned high-rise development. We would therefore ask that the 15m Riparian strip be re-instated and respected in the future zoning.
As Ongar is currently being taken in charge by FCC, and its green infrastructure has been managed in a haphazard fashion we woukd ask Ongar be prioritised for Urban Greening Plan currently planned for the Blanchardstown area.
We would also ask that under Policy GINHP21 proper provision is made for their protection and management and protection of Trees and Hedgerows reletively large areas of existing woodlands, trees and hedgerows in Ongar Village, which have amenity or biodiversity value and/orcontribute to special landscape character of the area.
Policy GINHP22 Tree Planting Also as Ongar is currently being taken in charge by FCC, and many trees have died or have been removed by management companies we would ask that FCC recommended street trees be planted to enhance the visual amenity and biodiversity of the village.

As Ongar has been developed with a poorly designed road layout, the village suffers from frequent traffic congestion and chaotic parking. Pedestrians and cyclist are very much relegated to last place here, and struggle to navigate and cross the four lane wide main street safely, in this Celtic Tiger, wild west, stage set of a village.
As a priority, once TIC has taken place, we would ask that both traffic management plans and active travel plans are implemented following consultation with local stakeholders.
We ask that Ongar be included in the list of residential areas monitored for aircraft noise.
