TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF M1 SOUTHBOUND  

 BETWEEN JUNCTION 5 AND JUNCTION 4   

AND  

M1 NORTHBOUND BETWEEN JUNCTION 6 AND JUNCTION 7 

 

An application has been received from Swarco UK & Ireland Ltd. on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland for permission to temporarily close for the purpose of installing Variable Message Signs. It is proposed that the road will be closed at the below dates and times: 

 

Thursday 1st February 22:00pm - 05:00am Friday 2nd February 

Monday 12th February 22:00pm – 05:00am Tuesday 13th February 

Tuesday 13th February 22:00pm – 05:00am Wednesday 14th February 

Monday 19th February 22:00pm – 05:00am Tuesday 20th February 

Tuesday 20th February 22:00pm – 05:00am Wednesday 21st February 

 

Permitted working hours shall be between 10pm and 5am. No works shall take place on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows, dependant on direction of travel.    

M1 SOUTHBOUND BETWEEN JUNCTION 5 AND JUNCTION 4,  

Diversion using the following national roads: From Junction 5 (Balbriggan South) exit to the R132 southbound, continue on the R132 to Junction 4 of the M1(Lissenhall) and rejoin M1 to continue southbound. 

 

 

 

 

M1 NORTHBOUND BETWEEN JUNCTION 6 AND JUNCTION 7  

Diversion using the following national roads: from Junction 6 (Balbriggan North) exit to the R122 eastbound, continue on the R122 and turn left onto the R132. Continue on the R132 to Junction 7 of the M1 (Drogheda/Julianstown)  and rejoin M1 to continue northbound. 

 

Access for Emergency Services will be made available in the event of an emergency. 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon on 17th  January 2024.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
