TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF A NUMBER OF ROADS IN FINGAL TO FACILITATE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADES ON SUNDAY 17TH MARCH 2024 

Fingal County Council Events Unit proposes to hold Saint Patrick’s Day Parades at locations across the county on Sunday 17th March 2024, and to facilitate the parade routes, it is proposed to temporarily close a number of roads at the locations listed below:  

Location 

Route 

Blanchardstown Village 

From the junction of Roselawn Road/Castleknock Road, all the way through Blanchardstown Main Street turning left onto Snugborough Road, turning at Westend to finish at Blanchardstown Town Centre at Library/Draoicht Plaza. 

Balbriggan Town Centre  

From Bremore Castle Car Park, Drogheda Street, through to Dublin Street, finishing at St. Peter & Pauls Church. 

Malahide Village 

Malahide Road/ (R106) from the junction of Yellows Walls Road to the junction of Seapark, Coast Road,  

 

Swords Town Centre 

From Coláiste Choilm, Dublin Road, along Main Street, turning right at the Bridge Street junction, along North Street and finishing at Swords Castle Town Park. 

 

 

Local restrictions may be in place from Saturday 16th March 2024 to permit route and viewing platforms set-up.  Route diversions will be in place from early morning on 17th March 2024.

Locally arranged St. Patrick’s Day Parades will also take place throughout Fingal.  Details will be advertised separately. 

 

Emergency access will be maintained at all times, and local access will be facilitated on a rolling basis for all parades.   

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Administrative Officer, (Saint Patrick’s Day Parades), Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 5pm Thursday 29th February 2024.  Please ensure your submission or observation is clearly marked "Temporary Road Closure – St. Patrick’s Day Parades" and specifies the location you are referring to.
