As a resident of clonsilla i am in support of the 30m buffer of the royal canal.

The Royal Canal and its thriving biodiversity needs protecting from developers that seek to destroy it.

Even an bord plenala agrees as they refused the oldschool house SHD due to biodiversity reasoning.

Of course housing developers are not going to support this as they want to destroy whats left of the royal canal and just build non stop for profits.

Clonsilla has lost a lot of biodiversity due to greed (and more to come down the line) so lets protect what we have left.

The apartments at the old schoolhouse were only around 190ish units. Saving the royal canal is not going to cause a housing crisis. You can build apartments everywhere in dublin and the country as we are doing so right now.

Clonsilla has been the backbone of the construction industry for the past decade. That time is coming to an end. Let clonsilla, its surrounding townlands and the royal canal to finally breathe in peace.

Let nature and the animals relax please.

The royal canal deserves a buffer zone full stop and that is the aim of this motion.
