TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AT R156 DAMASTOWN ROAD ON MONDAY 25TH MARCH  2024 TO FRIDAY 29TH March 2024.

Fingal County Council hereby gives notice that it intends to temporarily close R156 Damastown Road from 0800hrs on Monday 25th March 2024 to 2100hrs on Friday 29th March 2024.

An application has been received on behalf of ESB networks to temporarily close R156 Damastown Road from 0800hrs on Monday 25th March 2024 to 2100hrs on Friday 29th March 2024, to facilitate excavation of the roadway in order to repair a major ESB fault.

Diversions:

Vehicles traveling southbound on the M3 and those exiting at junction 4, as well as all other incoming traffic intending to use R156, will be redirected onto the R147, which spans over the M3. At the subsequent roundabout, motorists will be guided to make a left turn, directing them to continue along the R147. As they approach the junction of R147 with L3025, vehicles following the diversion route will once again make a left turn, thereby gaining access to the alternate end of R156.

All traffic approaching from Damastown, as well as vehicles utilizing L3025 and those exiting M3 northbound at junction 4 with the intention of accessing R156, will be directed onto the ON RAMP at junction 4 to merge with southbound traffic on N3. Subsequently, all vehicles following the diversion route will exit at junction 3 on N3 southbound. They will then make a right turn at the succeeding junction, followed by another right turn at the traffic light-controlled junction with R121. Continuing across the bridge over N3, vehicles will make a right turn onto the ON RAMP to merge with northbound traffic on N3. Upon reaching junction 4 on N3 northbound, they will exit the dual carriageway and continue following the diversion on R147. At the mini roundabout on R147 with R149, vehicles will continue straight. At the subsequent roundabout, traffic will make a right turn, traversing the bridge over M3. Upon reaching the next roundabout, vehicles can make a right turn to access the other end of R156.

Diversion signage will be in place during the closure.
