TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MAIN STREET AND BRIDGE STREET AND OUTBOUND LANE OF SWORDS BYPASS
An application has been received from Marathon Events Management DAC for permission to temporarily close various roads in the Swords area for the purpose of holding the Irish Life Dublin Race Series Fingal 10k Run. It is proposed that sections of the roads will be closed between 06:00 am and 14:00pm on Sunday 16th July 2023.
The roads in question are:-
North Street (part) - 6.00am – 14:00pm
Junction of Main St./Bridge St. TO Junction of Seatown Rd/North St. - 08:00am to 10:00am
Main Street Swords – 09:00am – 10:00am
Bridge Street - 09:00am – 10:00am
Swords By Pass - 09.30am – 10.10am
Ennis Lane - 09.40am – 10.30am
Windmill Road - 09.45am – 10.40am
Balheary Road - 09.50am – 11.00am
Watery Lane - 09.50am – 11.10am
Northbound R132 Swords Bypass Lanes will be closed from 9.30 – 10.30, Sunday 16th July
Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:
Malahide Diversion
Traffic to divert at Pinnock Hill roundabout onto R125 on to Montgorry Way, then right onto R106 Malahide/Swords Road
Northbound Diversion
Traffic from R132 turn left onto Naul Road, right on to R108 to Ballyboughal, then right on R129 to Blakes cross and R132
Glen Ellen Road
Local access only, Traffic for Applewood divert to Ardcian Park and R125
Rathbeale Road to Swords
Traffic divert at Brackenstown Avenue
Brackenstown Road to Swords
Traffic divert to Brackenstown Avenue
Balheay Avenue
Local access only, traffic to stay on R108
New Dairy Lane
Local access only for Swords, traffic to stay on R108

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency.

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon 21st June 2023.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.
Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individuals or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
