TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES TO FACILITATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE IN BLANCHARDSTOWN VILLAGE ON FRIDAY 17TH MARCH 2023.

Fingal County Council hereby gives notice that it intends to temporarily close the following Roads in Blanchardstown to facilitate the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Friday 17th March 2023.

  1. Castleknock Road from 11:00 - 14:00
  2. Main Street Blanchardstown 12:30 - 14:30 
  3. Snugborough Road 13:00 - 15:00
  4. Outer cordons 12:30 - 16:30  
  5. Blanchardstown Town Centre 12:00 to 17:00
  6. Diversion - Church Avenue - one way system 11:00 - 14:00

Parade start time is 13:00.

Diversions will be signposted, and emergency access will be maintained. 

Traffic Diversions

Auburn Avenue – traffic at Castleknock Village and general areas will divert at N3 via Auburn Avenue. 

N3, exit 1 – traffic exiting N3 towards Blanchardstown Village will be diverted from 11:00. 

N3, exit 2 -traffic exiting the N3 will be diverted straight across at the diamond from 11:00.

N3, Snugborough Road Roundabout (Diamond) traffic for Blanchardstown Town Centre and general area will be diverted away from Snugborough Road towards Liberty Insurance Roundabout from 11:00. Local access only.

Laurel Lodge Road - / R806 junction traffic for Blanchardstown village and general area will divert at Laurel Lodge Road at 11:00. 

Roselawn Road /R806 junction traffic for Blanchardstown Village and general area will divert at Roselawn Road at 10:30 (NB No access to Castleknock Road except for Parade vehicles or local access).

Clonsilla Road, Roselawn Road junction traffic for Blanchardstown Village and general area will divert at junction at 11:00.

Blanchardstown Road South traffic for Blanchardstown Town Centre and general area will divert away from Grove Road towards White's roundabout at 11:00. Local access only.

Blanchardstown Shopping Centre (Yellow Road ) traffic for Blanchardstown Town Centre and general area will divert left at McDonald’s roundabout. Local access only.

Signage

Variable message signs will be in place on approach to the parade route advising of traffic diversions on 17th March.

Emergency access

Emergency access will be maintained at all times, and local access will be facilitated on a rolling basis.

Local restrictions may be in place from Thursday 16th March 2023 to permit route and viewing platforms set-up. 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter.

Objections or submissions on the proposed Temporary Road Closure of Roads as listed above may be made online through this Consultation Portal, or alternatively in writing to Joan Kernan, Administrative Officer, Castleknock/Mulhuddart Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 to arrive no later than  5pm Wednesday 1st  March 2023 .

 All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
