PROPOSED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF A SECTION OF

WINDGATE ROAD, HOWTH, CO. DUBLIN

An application has been received from New Century Engineering on behalf of ESB Networks for permission to temporarily close Windgate Road, Howth, Co. Dublin, between its junction with Greenhollows Quarries and Windgate Rise.

 

The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the installation of Underground Ducting.

It is proposed that the road will be closed over two periods, as follows;

• 08.00 Monday, 20th September 2021 until 18.00 Friday, 24th September 2021

• 08.00 Monday, 27th September 2021 until 18.00 Tuesday, 28th September 2021

 

The alternative routes for traffic travelling in the area during the proposed closure are as follows:

From Greenhollows Quarries Junction (on Windgate Road):

Destination: Junction of Windgate Rise and Windgate Road. 

Alternative Routes: Windgate Road to Balkill Road to Windgate Rise and onto Windgate Road.

From Windgate Rise Junction (with Windgate Road): 

Destination: Junction of Greenhollows Quarries and Windgate Road. 

Alternative Routes: Windgate Rise to Balkill Road and onto Windgate Road.   

Local access will be provided over the periods of the proposed closures.

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Administrative Officer, Howth Malahide Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 16.00 Monday, 30th August 2021.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council. Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
