Meakstown Community Centre - Board Member Expression of Interest form.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Board Member for Fingal County Council's newest Community Centre in Meakstown. Fingal County Council recognises the importance of local community involvement in the management and operation of Meakstown Community Centre. Local groups are invited  to nominate one member to sit on the Meakstown Community Centre Board of Management. A nominee must be mandated to the Board of Management on behalf of a local community and voluntary group.  Following a review of expressions of interest by Fingal County Council, the Board will be selected to ensure that there is broad range of suitable skills. 

Board Members will be provided with a Welcome/Induction Pack and will be required to participate in training to support them in their role. Board numbers are recommended to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10. Should the number of EOIs exceed this, a number of sub-groups may be established. The new Community Centre Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG)  will  operate in accordance with requirement of the Companies Registration Office. Election of officers will take place on an annual basis at the Annual General Meeting. 

Directors operate within the Corporate Governance Framework and appointments are governed largely by the Companies Act 2014 . Please note that certain persons, such as a body corporate or an undischarged bankrupt or a person under the age of 18 years, cannot act as a director, nor can a person who is disqualified from doing so under the Act.
