Local Property Tax - Public Consultation Phase

Closed27 Jun, 2016, 7:00am - 29 Jul, 2016, 4:00pm

Overview

The Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 (as amended), makes specific provision that elected members of a local authority may pass a formal resolution to vary the basic rate of the Local Property Tax for their administrative area by a percentage known as the local adjustment factor.  At the meeting set by Fingal County Council to consider this matter, the members may set a local adjustment factor within the range of +/- 15% of the basic rate, or, may decide not to adjust the basic rate.  Fingal County Council will meet in September 2016 to consider the setting of a local adjustment factor for 2017.

Fingal County Council welcomes submissions from the public on this matter specifically covering the potential effects of varying the basic rate of the Local Property Tax on businesses, individuals and on local authority services.

The period for submissions is from Monday 27th June, 2016 to 4pm Friday 29th July, 2016.

Submissions must be received by 4pm on Friday 29th July 2016.  You can also submit a PDF version of this survey via email to LPTConsultation@fingal.ie or submit a hard copy of the survey to:
