Fingal County Council is inviting submissions in relation to the preparation of the Fingal Heritage Plan 2018 -2023, a strategy to protect, manage and promote our heritage.

As part of the process, and to will inform the development of the Plan, we want to hear the views of organisations and individuals with an interest in Fingal’s heritage.

The deadline for Submissions is 16 November 2017.

Fingal is rich in natural and cultural heritage, and is also the county with one of the largest, fastest growing and youngest populations in Ireland. Our heritage is a valuable asset that needs to be cared for and managed and the community has an important role to play. Our heritage gives each local area its identity and sense of place, and provides a high quality environment for all. It makes a contribution to the economy through tourism and by making Fingal an attractive place to work and locate a business.

And our heritage is there to be experience and enjoyed as part of everyday life by everyone in the community.

You can find more information on heritage in Fingal here http://www.fingalcoco.ie/planning-and-buildings/heritage-in-fingal/heritage-and-communities/

It is envisaged that a Draft Heritage Plan will be prepared by December 2017. Following on from a further period of public consultation the Heritage Plan will be brought before the elected members of the County Council for adoption early in 2018.
