TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF ROADS IN CASTLEKNOCK DUBLIN 15 ON SUNDAY 18TH JUNE 2023, TO FACILITATE CASTLEKNOCK 5K AND CASTLEKNOCK VILLAGE FESTIVAL

 

Fingal County Council hereby gives notice that it intends to temporarily close a number of roads in the Castleknock area, Dublin 15, to facilitate the Castleknock 5k and Castleknock Village Festival on Sunday 18th June 2023.

 

An application has been received on behalf of Metro St Brigid - Castleknock 5K to temporarily close Tower Road, White’s Road, College Road, from 10.30am to 12 noon on Sunday 18th June 2023 to facilitate the Castleknock 5k.

 

An application has been received on behalf of the Castleknock Village Festival to temporarily close the R806 Castleknock Road from the junction at College Road (Myos) to the junction with Auburn Avenue from 10am to 6pm Sunday 18th June 2023.

 

 

Diversions will be signposted, and emergency access will be maintained. 

 

Traffic Diversions to facilitate Castleknock 5K:

 

10.30am to 12 noon  – travelling from Chapelizod to Castleknock/ Blanchardstown – the diversion will be via Lower Road from Knockmaroon to Laraghcon and Westmanstown, and through Carpenterstown and Laurel Lodge.

 

R806 Castleknock Road from junction at College Road (Myos) to junction with Auburn Avenue will be closed to traffic.

 

Traffic Diversions to facilitate Castleknock Village Festival:

 

Travelling from City Centre, diversion from R806 along Auburn Avenue and onto R147 to the junction at the Bell Pub Blanchardstown.

Travelling from Blanchardstown towards City Centre, diversion is from Bell Pub Blanchardstown onto R147. 

Access for cars only is available via Beechpark Avenue, Old Navan Road and Auburn Avenue.

 

From 12noon to 6pm Tower Road, College Road will reopen to allow access to the northern part of Castleknock Village.

 

  

Objections or submissions on the proposed Temporary Road Closures of Castleknock Road R806 from 10am to 6pm, Tower Road, White’s Road, College Road from 10.30am to 12noon on Sunday 18th June 2023 to facilitate the Castleknock 5K and Castleknock Village Festival can be made online through the Consultation Portal http://consult.fingal.ie or alternatively in writing to Administrative Officer, Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart/Castleknock/Ongar Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 to arrive no later than 5pm Friday 2nd June 2023

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.

Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
