TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS IN RUSH 

 

 

An application has been received from Rush Community Council for permission to temporarily close various roads in Rush, Co Dublin to facilitate the Fingal Air Display Rush. It is proposed that the road will be closed on Monday 7th August 2023 from 14:00pm to 17:00pm. 

 

The roads in question are: 

 

  • Lower Main Street – From Junction at Anchor in the Square to Tower Street

  • Kilbush Lane from Lower Main Street  

  • Kilbush Road from Skerries Road  

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows, dependant on direction of travel: 

 

Northbound Traffic: Traffic approaching Kilbush Lane will be diverted down Skerries Road /R128. 

  

Westbound Traffic: Traffic from Tower Street and Harbour Area will be diverted to Bawn Road to exit onto Lower Main Street and to proceed down Upper Main Street to exit the town. 

   

Eastbound Traffic: Traffic heading towards the Harbour Area will be informed to 1) divert right at junction with Skerries Road/R128 down Convent Lane and taking right hand turn at Josephs Road and another right hand turn at Hand's Lane then left onto Main Street ending diversion route, or alternatively 2) divert left at Skerries Rd/R128 junction and continue on down Skerries Road/R128 to exit the town. 

 

 

Local access will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency. 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon the 18th of July 2023.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
