ROADS ACT 1993 TO 2015 – SECTION 75 

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF A NUMBER OF ROADS IN BALBRIGGAN TO FACILITATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE ON FRIDAY 17TH MARCH 2023 

 

Fingal County Council Events Unit proposes to hold a St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Balbriggan Co. Dublin on Friday 17th March 2023, and to facilitate the parade route, it is proposed to temporarily close a number of roads at the locations listed below:-

TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS
No vehicular traffic, except for emergency and event vehicles, will be allowed to access certain areas of the route. In order to facilitate this, traffic control points will be in place at the following locations;

  • Junction of Harry Reynolds Road / Drogheda Street
  • Chapel Street
  • Old Market Green
  • Junction of Dublin Street R132 roundabout
  • George’s Square [Viewing Platform]
  • Town bypass diversion – Flemington Lane to Dublin Street R132 roundabout
  • Others as deemed appropriate by An Garda Síochana

Local restrictions may be in place from Thursday 16th March 2023 to permit route and viewing platforms set-up.  Route diversions will be in place from early morning on 17th March 2023.  

Locally arranged St. Patrick’s Day Parades will be hosted by Community Groups throughout Fingal.  Details will be advertised separately.

These are also available for inspection at Council offices during normal working hours.  

Emergency access will be maintained at all times, and local access will be facilitated on a rolling basis.  

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Administrative Officer, (St. Patrick’s Day Parades), Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 5pm Wednesday 1st March 2023.  Please ensure your submission or observation is clearly marked "Temporary Road Closure – St. Patrick’s Day Parades" and specifies the location you are referring to.
