ROADS ACT 1993  TO 2015– SECTION 75 

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF R127, LADYSTAIRS AT BARNAGEERAGH CO. DUBLIN 

 

An application has been received from Lagan Construction for permission to temporarily close the R127, Ladystairs at Barnageeragh, Co Dublin for the purpose of roads resurfacing on behalf of Fingal County Council. It is proposed that the road will be closed for night-time works from 8:00pm to 6:00am Mondays to Fridays during the period 11th April 2023 to 2nd May 2023.   

No works are permitted on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows, dependant on direction of travel.  

Southbound: Traffic approaching Fancourt Road/ R127 junction to divert right onto the R127 until junction with the Main Street in Balbriggan at the Credit Union, where they will take a left onto the R132. Traffic will continue along the R132 until the R132 junction with Balrothery, left at the junction and left again onto the School Lane, followed by a right onto Coach Road. Continue until the Coach Road/ Rosepark Junction, take a left and continue straight on Darcystown Road until the road meets the junction with Baltransa and be diverted to the left. Continue straight onto Barnageeragh Road  following the diversion signs until the junction with the R127/ Barnageeragh Road, ending the diversion route. 

  

Northbound: Traffic approaching Barnageeragh Road/ R127 junction will be diverted left onto the Barnageeragh Road. Continue until the junction of Balstrana/ Darcystown Road where traffic will divert right onto Darcystown Road.  Continue straight until the junction of Rosewood Park/ Coach Road where traffic will divert right onto Coach Road. Continue until the junction of Coach Road/ School Lane, divert left onto School Lane and then right where the road meets the junction with the R132. Right onto the R132 and continue until the junction with the R127 at the Credit Union on Main Street, Balbriggan. Take a right at the junction following the diversion signs until the junction with the R127/ Fancourt Road, ending the diversion route. 

Due to height restrictions on the diversion route public transport buses only, will be allowed to pass through the section of road that is closed for the duration of these works.  

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Access for Emergency Services access will be made available if required. 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon the 22nd of March 2023.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
