TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF R125-10 AND R125-11 SWORDS ASHBOURNE ROAD 

 

An application has been received from DM Morris for permission to temporarily close the R125-10 and R125-11, Swords Ashbourne Road, Co Dublin for the purpose of roads resurfacing and ancillary works on behalf of Fingal County Council. The road will be closed at two separate sections. The first section to be closed is from County Boundary to Fieldstown Bridge from 19th June 2023 to 3rd July 2023. The second section to be closed is from Rolestown to Lispopple Cross from 3rd July 2023 to 17th July 2023. It is proposed that the road will be closed for 24 hours per day Mondays to Fridays during the period 19th June to 17th July 2023. 

     

The permitted working hours are between 08:00am to 12am (mid-night) Monday to Friday and between 09:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays.  No works are permitted on Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows, dependant on direction of travel.  

Section 1 

R125 West bound traffic: Will be diverted at Lispopple Cross by turn right onto Lispopple and travel along Lispopple for 1km and then turn left onto Rolestown East. Travel along Rolestown East for 1.3km and then turn left and travel for 0.25Km and right turn back onto the R125. 

 

R125 East bound traffic: Will be diverted just after the Rolestown Service station by turning left onto Rolestown East and travel for 0.25km and the turn right. Travel for a further 1.3km along Rolestown East and then turn right on Lispopple. Travel along Lispopple for 1km and the left back onto the R125. 

 

Section 2 

R125 West bound traffic: Will be diverted at Fieldstown Bridge 1 by turn left onto the R122 and travel along the R122 for 4.6km and then turn right onto the R121. Travel along the R121 for approximately 2.4km and then turn right onto the R135 and travel for 1.6Km and right turn onto the R130. Travel along the R130 for 4.3km and then join back onto the R125 by turning left at Fieldstown Bridge 2. 

 

R125 East bound traffic: Will be diverted at Fieldstown Bridge 2 by turn right onto the R130 and travel along the R130 for 4.3km and then turn left onto the R135. Travel along the R135 for approximately 1.6km and then turn right onto the R121 and travel for 2.4Km and left turn onto the R122. Travel along the R122 for 4.6km and then join back onto the R125 by turning right at Fieldstown Bridge 1. 

 

 

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Access for Emergency Services access will be made available if required. 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon the 30th May 2023.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
