ROADS ACT 1993  TO 2015– SECTION 75 

 

 

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF QUAY STREET, BALBRIGGAN, CO. DUBLIN 

 

 

An application has been received from GMC Utilities Group Limited for permission to temporarily close Quay Street, Balbriggan, Co Dublin for the purpose of sewer connection on behalf of Irish Water. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 13th June to the 16th June 2023 from 08:00am to 18:00pm

 

The permitted working hours are between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday and between 09:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays.  No works are permitted on Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows, dependant on direction of travel.   

Southbound traffic: Traffic travelling south on Drogheda Street and Bridge Street follow diversions onto Hampton Street, then onto High Street and back onto Quay Street. 

  

Northbound traffic: Traffic travelling north on Dublin Street and Bridge Street follow diversion onto Clonard Street via Fullam Street, Chapel Street back on to Drogheda Street and Bridge Street and follow diversion sign onto Quay Street. 

 

 

Local access will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency. 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon on 23rd of May 2023.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
