ROADS ACT 1993 TO 2023– SECTION 75 

 

 

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CHURCH ROAD AT ST COLUMBA’S CHURCH OF IRELAND, SWORDS, CO. DUBLIN 

 

An application has been received from Traffic Solutions Ltd on behalf of Fingal County Council for permission to temporarily close Church Road at St Columba's Church of Ireland, Swords, Co. Dublin for the purpose of excavating a trench for traffic signal ducting and to install tactile paving and associated works. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 13th of May 2024 to 14th of May 2024 for 24 hours per day.  

 

Permitted working hours shall be between 08:00hrs and 16:30hrs Monday to Friday.  

 

No works shall take place on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

 

Alternative route available for vehicular traffic is as follows; 

Diversion Route for Eastbound Traffic 

 

Eastbound traffic on Brackenstown Road should continue to the Brackenstown/Church Road junction and then turn South onto Church Road and continue to the Church Road/R836 junction. Vehicles should then turn North onto the R836 (Main Street) and continue until the Main Street/Bridge Street junction. Traffic should then turn West onto Bridge Street and continue until they meet the Bridge Street/Church Road junction.  

  

Diversion Route for Westbound Traffic 

 

Westbound traffic on Brackenstown Road should continue onto the Brackenstown Road/Brackenstown Avenue junction and then turn North. At the Brackenstown Avenue/Rathbeale Road junction, traffic should turn East and continue towards Bridge Street/Church Road junction. 

 

 

 

Local access will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency. 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon 24th of April 2024.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
