PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS IN SKERRIES, CO. DUBLIN

An application has been received from the Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club for permission to temporarily close roads in the Skerries area for the purpose of holding a Motorcycle Sprint Event. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 08:00 hrs  to 18:00 hrs on the 6th of July 2024.

The roads in question are: -

  • Portion of the R127 from Balcunnin Cross in a north easterly direction towards Skerries, past Milverton House to the first right hand intersection.
  • The Baldongan  to Milverton Road in a southerly direction to the intersection with the Baldongan- Skerries Road (Golf Road).
  • Portion of the Baldongan to Skerries Road (Golf Road) in a south-westerly direction to Baldongan Cross.
  • Portion of Ladywell  to Ballykea Road (Loughshinny Road) from Baldongan Cross to Balcunnin Cross.

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows: -

Traffic from R127 Dublin/Lusk to Skerries Co. Dublin

Northbound traffic from the R127 Lusk Ring Road to head east on the R128 from the Redmount Roundabout towards Rush. Continue to Rush on the R128 Whitestown Road and onto R128 Main St Rush. Continue on the R128 Skerries Road towards Loughshinny/Skerries. Head west onto the Shenick Road just south of Skerries and continue west onto Miller’s Lane to re-join the R127.

Traffic from Skerries Co. Dublin to R127 Lusk/Dublin.

From the R127 Dublin Road head east on Miller’s Lane towards the Shenick Road. Head south on the R128 Rush Road and continue through Loughshinny towards Rush.

Continue west onto Main St Rush. Head west on the R128 Whitestown Road towards Lusk. Re-join the R127 at the Remount Roundabout in Lusk.

Local Traffic from R127 Kennedy’s Corner around circuit towards Skerries

Local traffic northbound to head west on L1165 Collinstown. Continue north on Killary Grove, Darcystown Road and then east towards Lancaster Cottages. Then continue southeast on Grange Lodge Avenue towards Togher Hill re-joining the R127 at the Bridge Roundabout, Skerries.

Local Traffic from R127 Skerries around circuit towards R127 Lusk

From the R127 Bridge Roundabout, Skerries head northwest towards Togher Hill, Grange Lodge Avenue to Lancaster Cottages. Then continue south on Darcystown Road onto Killary Grove. Head east onL1165 Collinstown to re-join the R127 at Kennedy’s Corner.

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency.

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan, Rush-Lusk, Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00pm on 25th of June 2024.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.

Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
