TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF DRYNAM FOOTBRIDGE, SWORDS, CO. DUBLIN 

 

An application has been received from Donnelly Civil Engineering for permission to temporarily close Drynam Footbridge, Swords, Co Dublin for the purpose of resurfacing works on behalf of Fingal County Council. It is proposed that the footbridge will be closed for 24 hours per day during the period 15th of July 2024 to 29th of July 2024. 

 

Permitted working hours shall be between 07:00hrs and 19:00hrs Monday to Friday.   

     

No works are permitted on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. 

 

Alternative routes available for pedestrians are as follows, dependant on direction of travel.  

Pedestrians travelling East from Pavillions will have to divert to the Chapel Lane Footbridge, access can be gained through Longlands Estate, taking a left at Castle Avenue and then right at Chapel Lane. 

  

Pedestrians travelling West to Pavillions will have to divert using the pedestrian walkway alongside Ashley Avenue. 

 

 

Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter. 

 

 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon the 26th of June 2024.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
