ROADS ACT 1993  TO 2015– SECTION 75 

 

 

PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF R129 BETWEEN THE R108 AND THE GRANGE, BALLYBOUGHAL, CO. DUBLIN 

 

 AND  

 

THE R129 BETWEEN THE R108 AND GRACEDIEU, BALLYBOUGHAL, CO. DUBLIN  

 

AND 

 

 L-5070 DRISHOGE, LISPOPPLE CROSS, LISPOPPLE, CO. DUBLIN  

 

An application has been received from Causeway Geotech on behalf of Uisce Eireann to temporarily close the R129 between the R108 and The Grange, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin and the R129 between the R108 and Gracedieu, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin and the L-5070, Drishoge, Lispopple Cross, Lispopple, Co. Dublin.  

 

The purpose of the closures is to facilitate a permanent re-instatement of the roads. 

 

 • It is proposed that the R129 between the R108 and Gracedieu, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin will be closed 13th March 2024 for 24 hours per day.  

• It is proposed that the L-5070, Drishoge, Lispopple Cross, Lispopple, Co. Dublin will be closed 13th March 2024 for 24 hours per day.  

• It is proposed that R129 between the R108 And the Grange, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin will be closed 14th March 2024 for 24 hours per day.  

 

Permitted working hours shall be between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday. No works shall take place on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.  

 

Local access will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency.  

 

Alternative route available for vehicular traffic is as follows for Temporary Closure of R129 between The R108 and Gracedieu, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin (13th March 2024).  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from West: - Traffic travelling from Westpalstown, turn left onto R108 and continue up to Rathgreat, turn right onto L1080 and continue up to The Five Roads, then turn right at roundabout and right again on next roundabout and continue onto R132 up to Blake’s Cross. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from South: - Traffic travelling from Belinstown, continue straight on R108 and up to Rathgreat, turn right onto L1080 and continue up to The Five Roads, then turn right at roundabout and right again on next roundabout and continue onto R132 up to Blake’s Cross. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from East: - Traffic travelling from Blake’s Cross, turn left on Gracedieu and continue up to Newtown, turn right onto Balheary Road and continue up to R108, then turn right onto R108 and continue straight. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Alternative route available for vehicular traffic is as follows for L-5070, Drishoge, Lispopple Cross, Lispopple, Co. Dublin (13th March 2024).  

 

Traffic travelling to Lispopple Cross from North: - Traffic travelling from Rolestown East and Lispopple, turn left towards R108, turn right onto R108 and continue on R108, then turn right onto R125 and continue up to Lispopple Cross. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Lispopple from South: – Traffic travelling from Balcultry Road turn right onto R125, turn left onto R108 and continue on R108, then turn left towards Lispopple. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Lispopple from West: – Traffic travelling from Rolestown continue onto R125, turn left onto R108 and continue on R108, then turn left towards Lispopple. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure. 

 

Alternative route available for vehicular traffic is as follows for R129 between The R108 And the Grange, Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin (14th March 2024).  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from West: - Traffic travelling from Browncross, turn right onto The Orchard, turn right onto R122 and continue on R122, turn right onto L1070 and continue up to Rathgreat, then turn right onto R108 and continue straight. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from West: - Traffic travelling from The Orchard, turn left onto R129, turn right onto R122 and continue on R122, turn right onto L1070 and continue up to Rathgreat, then turn right onto R108 and continue straight. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure. 

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from East: - Traffic travelling from Newlawns, turn right onto R108 and continue up to Rathgreat, turn left onto L1070, then turn left onto R122 and continue on R122 and continue straight to Oldtown. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.  

 

Traffic travelling to Ballyboughal from South: - Traffic travelling from Belinstown, continue straight on R108 up to Rathgreat, turn left onto L1070, then turn left onto R122 and continue on R122 and continue straight to Oldtown. Advance signage will inform traffic of diversion route and road closure.

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00 noon on 26th  February 2024.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.  

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994. 

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
