Increased Noise Levels on incoming and Outbound Flights overflying on Station Road Portmarnock
Since early December 2021 I have noticed significantly higher noise levels from both incoming and outgoing flights in this area.
There seem to be more outgoing flights than before, which are particularly noisy.
I have lived at my current address since the beginning of 2008 and rapidly adjusted to background aircrft noise but I now find it oppressively intrusive although my hearing has deteriorated noticeably because of age during the intervening years. I was advised earlier this year to obtain a hearing aid but I see no point in this situation. I have also started to use ear plugs at night but they fail to block out the noise.
Flights now wake me as early as 03.45 and can continue until after 23.00.
I appreciate that Christmas is a busy time of year but it is the intensity of the noise that has increased significantly rather than the frequency, and which I now find oppressive.
