Webinar: R132 Blake’s Cross to Minister’s Road, Lusk Protected Cycle Lanes. 12 noon - 1pm.

Dúnta18 D.F., 2022, 11:00am - 26 D.F., 2022, 11:00am

Fingal County Council is proposing to provide Protected Cycle Lanes along both sides of the R132 from Blake’s Cross to Minister’s Road. Cycle lanes make it safer for people of all ages and abilities to get around by bike.

Protected Cycle Lanes are separated from vehicles by flexible bollards, line marking and coloured surfaces. New cycle lanes will foster closer connections between Lusk and its surrounding area, making it safer to connect with public transport at the R132 for longer journeys into Swords, Dublin city and beyond.

Whether you’re heading to school, to sport or to the shops cycling is a free, healthy and environmentally friendly way to travel and these works are in line with the vision for active and sustainable modes of travel that contribute to safer routes to school, better mental and physical health and a cleaner climate.

Works proposed include

  • 2.7km Protected Cycle Lanes in existing hard shoulders (both sides of R132).
  • Traffic calming measures, pedestrian crossing points, bus stops and concrete traffic islands.

  • School gate enhancement measures for Corduff National School.

Join us for a webinar at 12 noon on Wednesday, 26 October 2022 to meet the project team and learn more about how and why Fingal County Council is proposing to introduce protected cycle lanes on this route. We look forward to answering your questions.
