TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS IN LUSK, CO. DUBLIN

An application has been received from Lusk Athletic Club for permission to temporarily close roads in the Lusk area for the purpose of holding a 4 Mile Road Race. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 2.00pm to 5.00pm on Sunday 3rd March 2019.

 

The roads in question are:
• Chapel Green.
• L-1160 (Chapel Road).
• L-1401 (Main Street).
• Northbound Lane of the R127 (Rathmore Road), from the Station Road Roundabout to the Skerries Road Roundabout.
• L-1402 (Station Road), from Station Road Roundabout to Dublin Road.
• L5245 (Post Office Road).

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:

Traffic coming from Quickpenny Road may use Hands Lane,Ministers Road, Church Road, and Barrack Lane to access the rest of the village.

Local access only for traffic to Main Street or areas off Main Street. Traffic will be required to wait until there is a gap in the participants before being directed towards Skerries Road Roundabout. It will not be possible to travel south on Main Street until all participants have completed the race.

Local access only for traffic to Station Road or areas off Station Road. Traffic will be required to wait until there is a gap in the participants.

Vehicular traffic from Lusk Village Housing Estate will be diverted to leave the estate via Raheny Roundabout out on to Rathmore Road/R127 when gaps appear among the
participants. Traffic heading northbound on the R-127 in the Skerries direction will be diverted onto the R-128 at the Station Road Roundabout. Diversion route for Skerries will be the R-128 via Rush and Loughshinny.

Traffic heading southbound on the R-127 from the Skerries direction will be able to continue southwards on the R-127 towards Blakes Cross as normal.

Pedestrians, Emergency Vehicles and local access will be facilitated by local marshals.

Diversion signage and marshals will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan Swords
Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 4.00pm on Friday 1st February 2019.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary RoadClosure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
