TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A ROAD IN SWORDS, CO. DUBLIN

(FOREST ROAD (L2025) FROM COOKS ROAD (L6007) TO JUNCTION WITH RIDGEWOOD GREEN)

An application has been received from GMC Utilities Group Ltd for permission to temporarily close a road in the Swords area for the purpose of laying a new water main.  These works are being carried out on behalf of Irish Water.  It is proposed that the road will be closed as follows:

  • from 8.00am Saturday 10th February 2018 until 6.00pm Sunday 18th February 2018

          and

  • from 8.00am Saturday 24th March 2018 until 6.00pm Sunday 8th April 2018.

The road in question is:

Forest Road (L2025) - From Cooks Road (L6007) to its junction with Ridgewood Green.

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:

Diversion for North Bound traffic travelling from Cooks Road or Forest Road will be via

  • Naul Road (L2020) East Bound divert to Swords Road (R132)
  • Swords Road (R132) North Bound divert to Boroimhe Road (L2300)
  • Boroimhe Road (L2300) divert to Forest Road (L2025)

Diversion for South Bound traffic travelling from Forest Road (L2025) will be via

  • Boroimhe Road (L2300) East Bound diver to Swords Road (R132)
  • Swords Road (R132) South Bound divert to Naul Road (L2020)
  • Naul Road (L2020) West Bound divert to Forest Road (L2025)/Cooks Road (L6007)

It is noted that most schools will be on mid-term break for the February week, and on Easter holidays during the March/April week, and this should contribute to a reduced volume of rush-hour traffic in the area.

Any person may lodge an objection online through this Consultation Portal, or in writing to:

Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan/Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 4.00pm on Friday 12th January 2018.
