TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS IN DONBATE, CO. DUBLIN

 

An application has been received from Lambay Sports Academy for permission to temporarily close roads in the Donabate area for the purpose of holding a 4 Mile Road Race. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 9.00am to 11.00am on Sunday 22nd May 2022.

 

The roads in question are:-

 

  • 9.00am – 11.00am

Section of Donabate Distributor Road.  Hearse Road (from the junction with the Donabate Distributor Road to approx. 100 metres past (Donabate Village side) the entrance to Semple Woods

  • 09:00am - 10:00 am

Corballis Cottages Road

  • 09:15am - 10:15 am

Corballis Road

  • 09:30am - 10:30am

Section of New Road from the junction of the Corballis Road to the junction with the Donbate Distributor Road

  • 09:00am - 11:00am

New Road / Donabate Distributor Road Junction to Corabllis Cottages Road Entrance

  • 09:00am - 11:00am

Closure times are approximate and may be subject to change.

 

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:-

 

FOR TRAFFIC ARRIVING TO DONABATE / PORTRANE:

 

The two main entrance roads into the Donabate Portrane Peninsula are The Hearse Road (R126) and Turvey Avenue:

  • For motorists entering the Peninsula via the Hearse Road (R126), they should divert left via Cobbes Lane which will bring them onto Turvey Avenue.
  • For motorists entering the Peninsula via Turvey Avenue, this road will remain unaffected and motorists can gain direct access to Donabate Village and Portrane.

 

FOR TRAFFIC WITHIN THE DONABATE VILLAGE / PORTRANE AREA:

 

  • Donabate Village and Portrane will be unaffected by road closures.
  • The section of the Donabate Distributor Road from the traffic lights joining the Hearse Road, to the junction of the Donabate Distributor Road and the New Road will be closed from 9.00am until 11.00am.
  • Corballis Cottages Road will be closed from 9.00am until 10.00am.
  • The Corballis Road will be closed from 9.15am until 10.15am.
  • The section of the New Road from the junction with the Corballis Road to the junction with the Donabate Distributor Road will be closed from 9.30am until 10.30am.

 

Pedestrians, Emergency Vehicles and local access will be facilitated by local marshals.

Diversion signage and marshals will be in place for the duration of the closure.

 

 

Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 12.00pm on Monday 9th May 2022.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, which are submitted to the Council regarding this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
