Fingal Biodiversity Action Plan 2018 - 2023

Closed28 Nov, 2017, 10:00am - 20 Dec, 2017, 5:00pm

Fingal County Council is inviting submissions in relation to the preparation of the Fingal Biodiversity Action Plan 2018-2023; an action plan to guide the protection, management and promotion of our natural heritage in Fingal.

As part of the process, and to inform the development of the Action Plan, we want to hear the views of organisations and individuals with an interest in Fingal’s natural environment.

Fingal has a rich biodiversity resource with its coast, countryside and urban centres. The biodiversity resource in Fingal is not only of local, national and international nature conservation importance, but it also contributes to the economy through tourism and makes Fingal an attractive place to live. At the moment, Fingal is one of the fastest growing counties in Ireland. The vision for Fingal is to develop and grow in such a way that maintains and enhances biodiversity for future generations. Our natural habitats and their associated plants and animals are valuable assets that need to be cared for and managed and everyone has an important role to play.

It is envisaged that a Draft Biodiversity Action Plan will be prepared by February 2018. Following on from a further period of public consultation, the Biodiversity Action Plan will be brought before the elected members of the County Council for adoption in mid-2018.

The closing date has passed and submissions are no longer being accepted.
