2025 Register Your Fingal International Women's Day Event & Application for Small IWD Bursary

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th, and many events are held around the world to mark the occasion. In 2025, the theme of activities and events is 'Equality' with an overall aim of celebrating progress , calling for change, and spotlighting  the achievements of women. 

(1) Register Your International Women's Day Event/ Activity

Fingal County Council is inviting local community & voluntary groups and community services  to register their event and feature in the 2025 Fingal International Women's Day (IWD) programme. This programme will promote community activities taking place from Monday 3rd March upto and including  Sunday 9th March and will generate a greater awareness of your event across the county.

(2) Fingal IWD Small Bursary Application  - €300 available to Community & Voluntary Groups

Fingal County Council Community Development Office are allocating €300 max towards small scale community led events/ activities that celebrate women, support an education/ skills development, encourage social engagement, promote community development and or women's empowerment. Eligible groups must show an experience  of working/ supporting women. If groups are organising an IWD event to encourage women to get involved, they must show how they have specially reach out or show support to local women.   

The bursary is available to Community and Voluntary Group registered with the Fingal Community County Register (PPN) and operate within the Fingal County Administrative area. Groups must complete the IWD Funding Bursary section of the form below before the 8th February with 'Final' details of their event (event name, date, time, location, registration link)  and break down of eligible costs.

As IWD is supporting local voluntary led small scale IWD events, only the following Eligible Costs will be considered: (i) Venue rental cost, (ii) Speaker/ Trainer/ Facilitator/ Presenter cost, (iii) Materials (required as part of the activity i.e. Women’s Arts Session will require paint, paper, brushes) . Please be advised that the following are Non Eligible Costs i.e. Photographer/Videographer, Decorations, Audio Visual Equipment, Promotional Material, Refreshments (this list is not exhaustive).

NOTE: Only one application for funding will be considered per a IWD event. If your event is large and involves a collaboration of multiple groups, please link with your local Community Development Office Team to explore other opportunities.

Some examples of events include  

Panel Discussion: Host panel a discussion featuring influential women sharing their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Workshop: Organise a workshop focusing health, wellbeing, skill building relevant to personal and community development.

Social Networking Event: Arrange an event where women can connect, share ideas, be social and build relationships.

Exhibition: Showcase of art/ photography/ performance/ poetry/ song created by women, celebrating their creativity and unique perspectives.

Film Screening: Feature a film directed or produced by women or showcase women in action.

Educational/ Information Session: Offer a session on women's rights, gender equality, and the importance of diversity and inclusion.

Activity/ Ceremony: to recognize the achievements, value, experiences of women.

Again, please note that your event/ activity listed below and or  funding under the Fingal International Women’s Day Small Bursary will feature in a Fingal County Councils IWD event programme and promoted publicly through various media channels.
