TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BALCARRICK/NEW ROAD, DONABATE, CO. DUBLIN
An application has been received from MEIC LTD. for permission to temporarily close a section of Balcarrick/New Road, Donabate, Co. Dublin. This is to facilitate associated carriageway works for the Donabate Distributor Road Project. It is proposed that the road will be closed each night from 10.00pm to 6.00am the following morning, Monday 29th April 2019 to Wednesday 1st May 2019.
The road in question is:
Balcarrick/New Road, Donabate, Co. Dublin, from Ballalease to the west and Donabate Golf and Tennis Club, Island View Mobile Homes, Shoreline Hotel and Donabate Beach to the east of the closure. The Road Closure will be located at the tie-in for the new Distributor Road.
Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:
Motorists traveling from Donabate, Portrane, and Turvey Avenue and wish to access Balcarrick/New Road should continue on the Hearse Road/R126 until the junction of the New Distributor Road (located west of Old Kilcrea Road). Turn left on to the New Distributor Road and continue to the junction of Corballis Road. Turn right on Corballis Road and continue along the Coast Road passing Nethercross Holiday Homes, Balcarrick Golf Club and Corballis Links Golf Club until the roundabout at the junction of New Road/ Beach View and Corballis Road. From here all locations east of the road closure on Balcarrick/New Road can be accessed.
Motorists travelling from Balcarrick/New Road (Donabate Golf and Tennis Club, Island View Mobile Homes, Shoreline Hotel and Donabate Beach) wishing to access Donabate, Portrane, Turvey Avenue and Hearse Road should continue on Balcarrick/New Road until the roundabout at the junction of New Road/ Beach View and Corballis Road. From here take the Corballis Road exit on the roundabout and follow the Corballis Road past the Corballis Links Golf Club & Balcarrick Golf Club until the junction of the New Distributor Road. Follow the Distributor Road to access the R126/Hearse Road.
Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in the event of an emergency.
Any person may lodge an objection online through the Consultation Portal, at https://consult.fingal.ie, or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Balbriggan Swords Operational Area, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 4.00pm on Friday 5th April 2019.

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this Temporary Road Closure will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.
Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Temporary Road Closure in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.
The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
