NOTICE of PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (as amended)

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001 (as amended)

 

 

Proposed refurbishment of and extension to the Carnegie Library, Skerries (a protected structure RPS No. 201) Strand Street, Skerries, Co. Dublin, K34 FT61 including demolition of 7 & 8 Chapel Lane and upgrade of the public realm to the forecourt of Skerries Library, St. Patrick’s Church and public path. The site adjoins St Patrick’s RC Church (RPS No. 202) and lies within the Architectural Conservation Area.

 

In accordance with Part XI of the Local Government Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), Fingal County Council hereby gives notice of the proposed works to be carried out at the above site:

 

Fingal County Council (Libraries Department) is proposing to refurbish and extend the Skerries Carnegie Library on lands of 482m2 (0.119 acres) at Strand Street, Skerries, Co. Dublin, K34 FT61. The proposal includes refurbishment of the existing Carnegie Library, demolition of 7 & 8 Chapel Lane, the provision of a two & threestorey extension (to the rear garden of the existing library building and the site of 7 & 8 Chapel Lane), new access point to Floraville Park (with ramp & steps) and all associated services and site works. The proposal includes a full upgrade of the public realm to the forecourt of Skerries Library, St. Patrick’s Church and public path and adjacent on-street parking on lands of approx. 868m2 (0.214 acres).

 

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at https://consult.fingal.ie/en/browse and inspection or purchase, at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, during public opening hours at the following offices from Tuesday 13th August 2019, to Tuesday 10th September 2019 at;

between the hours of 9.30 am to 4.00 pm Mon-Fri (excluding Bank & Public Holidays)

and

Skerries Library, Strand Street, Skerries, Co. Dublin, K34 FT61 (during library opening hours)

and

Blanchardstown Library, Civic Centre, Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15, D15 RY73

(during library opening hours)

 

 

A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area may be made, either online through the website https://consult.fingal.ie/en/browse or in writing, to:-

on, or before 4.30pm on Wednesday 25th September 2019

 

 

All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this development will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Fingal County Council.

 

Accordingly the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development in accordance with the regulations of the Planning and Development Acts.

 

The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting. Details including the names of those making submissions may be shared with relevant Council Departments.

 

Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
