[Closed at 4.30pm, Friday 15th May 2015]

A Development Plan sets out the key policy context for the development of a county. It must give spatial expression to the balancing of the economic, social and cultural needs of the community, in particular influencing new development, enhancing amenities, and protecting the environment and our heritage. It fits within a hierarchy of national and regional spatial plans and guidelines.

Under the Planning and Development Acts the Council is required to make a new development plan every six years. Fingal starts the review of its Development Plan on 20th March 2015, and over the next two years will make a Plan for the period 2017 to 2023.

This is the Pre-Draft stage of the review and you are invited to make a submission.  Your submission may be composed of a number of different observations.  To assist you we have outlined a number of different themes against which your individual observations may be made.  These themes follow those in the pre-draft booklet which you can view below along with associated background papers opposite.
